Nihilistic slacker Cliff Spab and a group of his peers are held hostage for 36 days in a convenience store by a group of terrorists. The terrorists record the event and force the networks to air the videotaped footage. The stand-off captivates the nation, and the kids become household celebrities. The hostages are freed following a bloody showdown, but walk out into an even more oppressive world of public obsession and hype.
